The Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) and Saarland University’s Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science have signed an Erasmus+ agreement in the field of computer science.

Saarland University is the first German university to offer undergraduate programs entirely in English, including Computer Science (B.Sc.) and Cybersecurity (B.Sc.). It offers one of the most dynamic and comprehensive ecosystems for computer science students through the Saarland Informatics Campus (SIC), which unites world-renowned research institutes such as the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems, and the Center for Bioinformatics, together with Saarland University’s three academic departments: Computer ScienceMathematics, and Language Science and Technology.

SIC is a major international hub for computer science, offering 24 study programs that span the entire discipline, from mathematics and informatics to data science and artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, and cybersecurity. With more than 1,000 scientists across its institutions, SIC covers the full spectrum of computer science and is recognized by CSRankings as one of the leading centers for the field in Germany and Europe.

Located in Saarbrücken, just minutes from the French border, students can easily visit historic French cities such as Metz and Strasbourg while enjoying the cultural diversity, exceptional cuisine, and high quality of life that define the SaarLorLux region, a vibrant cross-border area that brings together Saarland (Germany), Lorraine (France), and Luxembourg, known for its unique blend of cultures and opportunities.
